Joseph Scaltro is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey. A graduate of Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Joseph has 40 years’ experience as a Design Engineer and 30 years as an Owner’s Representative. This cross training of experience allows us to temper our design decisions with the knowledge of field conditions. It also allows us to represent the Owner from the vantage point of being able to guide and consult on the design of most projects that we work on.

I started as an Engineering Technician in the Facilities Engineering Department for Con Edison where I learned all aspects of Engineering Design. I then became a Chief Construction Inspector for major Engineering Projects in power generating stations. Upon obtaining my Engineering Degree, I started work at Fordham University where I became the Director of Engineering Service and learned the skills required to design, file and build projects.
In 1997, I opened my own Engineering Firm and continued to design projects throughout the Tristate Area
AE Associates is well versed in the Construction process in NYC and surrounding areas. AEA is skilled at project development from start to finish. We are unique in that I am a Design Professional and Licensed Professional Engineer. I can guide a project from conceptual ideas to Design Development and Construction Documents. I can be active in all stages of design ensuring that the design will suit the client and their end goal needs. I am very familiar with Filing and Signoffs at the NYC-DOB, FDNY Issues, Certificates of Occupancy and the variance process. When contracted AEA can assist on the entire project development process from Conception to Construction Documents to DOB Closeouts or any parts that you need assistance with along the way.
